Show Notes

Claire Owens is a resident of the Town of North East, Village of Millerton.

Meet Claire

Hi, I'm Claire Owens. I was born and raised on Long Island and attended college in the Bronx before settling in Millerton where I enjoy time walking the rail trail with my dog, Birdie, perusing the library for a good story to escape into, and sitting on the porch with my mom chatting with neighbors.

I have always had a passion for serving and have made a career out of working for globally recognized veterans charities, impacting the lives of countless wounded warriors and their families. My dedication to making a difference was instilled in me by my parents - especially my mother, who was a nurse before retiring in Millerton.

I previously served on the North East Zoning Board of Appeals, where I worked with other members to grant permits for building variances and handled community questions and concerns related to zoning and planning.

I hope that in becoming a Town Board Member in November I can usher in a new generation of civically-minded Millerton residents that will work to better the community for all.

As your next town board member I will work to:

Make North East a leader in renewable energy

Increase affordable housing to attract quality, skilled workers and growing families

Make North East a destination for visitors and residents alike
