PATH, Intl. Equine Specialist in Mental Health and Learning

Jane began her lifelong love of horses as a competitive rider. When she left the world of traditional horsemanship behind, she had no idea that horses would ever become an integral part of her life again. It was not until she began to study the principles and practices of natural horsemanship that she came to understand what horses had to teach us about how we come across to others, about being in the moment and how to bring out the best in ourselves.

We are now into our sixth year of giving veterans the tools they need to rebuild healthy relationships through purposeful engagement with horses … and we have some very big news!   The Director of Clinical Psychology at the West
Haven VA and his team at the VA and Yale were awarded a two-year
research grant to determine how and why our work ‘works’.  To meet these requirements, we need to continue training new facilitators and horses — and prepare our instructors and staff to support this expansion.

We hope you will join us to help us celebrate this tremendous milestone.

The evening includes cocktails, a gourmet cook-out style dinner and specialty cocktails by The Swell Party; live music by the Joint Chiefs, a video tribute with some of our veteran graduates and their ‘equine coaches’;  a silent auction with some incredible opportunities for unique experiences.

Plus, a reading from author Roxanna Robinson, whose book Sparta was instrumental in giving us exactly what we needed to understand the impossible dilemmas all veterans face as they make their way home.

It is only because of your belief in our mission and your generous support that we have been able to come this far.
Please help us take our work to the next level and make The Equus Effect the VA’s program of choice for veterans who sincerely want to come home.  It is our great honor to serve them and we could not do so without you.
