The Hotchkiss Library of Sharon announces a virtual, weekly, stress-management program: Resilience: 20 Weeks to a Less Stressful Life with Meditation, Yoga and Naturopathy

The last two years have been difficult for us all and the ongoing uncertainty of our times seems to bring new challenges every month. The groundhog’s prediction of six more weeks of winter certainly doesn’t help. And many of us are still weary to gather in groups. Anxiety and depression are afflicting more of us and many people continue to feel lonely and isolated.

Join the Hotchkiss Library of Sharon on Zoom to learn easy meditation techniques, gentle chair yoga for all body types, and naturopathic techniques for riding out the ups and downs of these stressful times. This is your chance to train with advanced and accessible practitioners. A generous ARPA grant from the Town of Sharon, which recognizes the toll the pandemic has taken on our collective mental health, allows us to bring back our popular meditation program from Winter 2021, expanded to an hour and now including yoga and naturopathy, for twenty weeks, beginning on Wednesday, March 9 at 7:30 pm. The last session will be on Wednesday, July 20.

Marion Williams, LPC, a board-certified licensed professional counselor will help us manage stress and reduce anxiety through easy-to-learn meditation techniques; Anita Haravon, PhD, founder of All Beings Yoga in New York City, will lead us in chair yoga, accessible for all body types, and presented with care to prevent and avoid injuries; and Dr. Elizabeth Wing, a naturopath in Sharon, will introduce us to the stress-busting practices of hydrotherapy, healthy eating, gratitude journaling, herbs, and aromatherapy. Half of the sessions will be dedicated to meditation, and one quarter each to yoga and naturopathy. Visit our website to view the whole schedule. Register for one session, a few sessions, or all sessions.

This program is free but advanced registration is required at https://hotchkisslibraryofsharon.org/adult-events/resilience/
