Biography

With roots dug deep in Salisbury, State Representative Maria Horn is a proud member of Connecticut’s 64th Assembly district.

After earning her bachelors from Princeton University in 1986, Representative Horn went on to attend the University of Chicago Law School; obtaining her JD in 1993. Before beginning her law career, Representative Horn spent four years working in corporate finance at JP Morgan & Co. She would then work at Debevoise & Plimpton before becoming a law clerk for a federal judge. The bulk of State Representative Horn’s professional career took place in New York where she worked for the United States (U.S.) Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Criminal Division.

State Representative Horn has had the privilege of serving on numerous boards for causes that she cares deeply about. Until June of 2018, Representative Horn chaired the Board of Trustees of the Indian Mountain School in Lakeville, a board which she has been a member of since 2009. She served as a member of the Board of Directors for the domestic violence prevention agency, Women’s Support Services, in Sharon. Today, she chairs the Women’s Support Service’s Governance Committee. Additionally, Representative Horn serves as a member of the Board of Finance in Salisbury.

Representative Horn lives in Salisbury with her husband, three children, and their dog.
