REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN FOR THE FALL TERM

Taconic Learning Center

We will not be holding in person TLC classes at Geer and Noble, or anywhere else, for a variety of health and venue reasons. Instead, the Board has decided to conduct our TLC courses this Fall via an internet program called ZOOM, which enables an instructor and attendees to see and hear each other simultaneously via your computer or smartphone.

To this end, we have had several Zoom meetings with our instructors to help them learn the techniques for conducting class via Zoom, and we will hold more of these training sessions with our instructors as we near the start of the classes.

The Fall course listings are now posted on the TLC website, and we ask that you register for classes via the website as you have in the past. In September, the links for signing into the ZOOM class meetings will be posted under each course description on the website, and you can attend each weekly session by using that Zoom link on the website for the current session just before the class begins.

We will also hold two (for your convenience) very brief training sessions of about 10 minutes or less, starting in early September for you to learn how to participate in TLC’s ZOOM classes. The time and dates for these classes will be emailed to all who have registered for one or more classes before classes begin. You may wish to attend one of these brief classes (or more if you choose, though the sessions will be the same). You will be pleased at how easy it is to attend a Zoom class if you have not yet used Zoom.

TLC is a non-profit membership organization providing the opportunity for lifelong learning to residents of the Northwest Corner of Connecticut and adjacent communities in New York and Massachusetts.

TLC's courses cover a wide variety of academic subjects taught by volunteers, all experts in their fields. Click on Course Listings on the left to see what courses we offer.

Annual membership dues of $60 per person are fully tax-deductible. There are no other set fees. Individuals may sign up for any number of courses. Classes lasting two hours are held once a week at one of our three conveniently located venues. [Note: For the fall term in 2020, courses will be conducted via Zoom.]

Attendees are free to come and go as they like; there are no exams. Those taking advantage of TLC's program will rekindle the excitement of learning, expand their horizons, be able to share their knowledge, have fun and make new friends.

TLC is a wonderful way to stay involved and well informed. Join today! For more information, click on an item on the left, or contact us by mail or by phone.
