Sharon Hospital’s top priority is providing high-quality care for our community. To do this, we must adapt to meet the demands of a changing healthcare landscape.  

We have spent the past few years engaged in a thorough planning process to analyze how our community seeks care and chart Sharon Hospital’s strategic direction as a key member of the Nuvance Health system. We utilized all data at our disposal, including an internal analysis of our operational performance, national and regional healthcare trends and regional demographic data. We also worked with the Foundation for Community Health to commission an impartial analysis from a leading healthcare consultant group. And, importantly, we sought qualitative feedback through recordings from past community forums, as well as planning discussions with trusted representatives of our staff and community.

Our process resulted in a transformative plan focused on deliberate growth.

This transformation, endorsed by Sharon Hospital’s Board, will invest in and strengthen the services our analysis identified as our community’s greatest areas of need and convene workgroups to evaluate opportunities for consolidation, while connecting our patients with Nuvance Health’s network of advanced specialists for any services not offered at our facility. We also had to make some difficult decisions about redesigns and closures of underused service lines to ensure Sharon Hospital can continue caring for our community far into the future.
