Marshall Miles Interviews Gretchen Hachmeister of Sharon's Hotchkiss Library: Book Signing 2.0

For the last 24 summers, the Hotchkiss Library of Sharon has hosted the area's premiere literary event, its Annual Summer Book Signing. Since crowds aren’t gathering this year, the Library is taking the event online, as a series of Virtual Author events, collectively known as Book Signing 2.0.
The first event is May 29 and they will continue throughout the summer.
Authors who had been slated for the Summer Book Signing with a presentation or reading followed by a moderated Q&A session. “We’re delighted that Book Signing 2.0 will have the same variety of
authors and subjects that we present at our Summer Book Signing.”
Like the Summer Book Signing they are ticketed events, which also offer an option to purchase the book with a signed bookplate, available by mail or pick up after the event.

This first group is scheduled for Fridays at 7 PM.

Book Signing 2.0 events

Premiering the series on Friday, May 29 at 7 pm, will be Daniel Leader discussing his newest book, Living Bread. Known as the founder of Bread Alone in Rhinebeck NY, Leader considers himself a student of bread baking, even though his new book is a James Beard Award nominee and loaves from Bread Alone are shipped all over the country. Living Bread looks at the state of bread baking today, from farming to kneading, sourdough to wholegrain. The book’s combination of art and science is like yeast for the enthusiastic home baker.

Friday, June 12: While Kids and TV may be a too-frequent combination these days, smart programming for Children was a radical idea in the 1970s. Join David Kamp, author of Sunny Days, in this tour of the cultural movement that created Sesame Street, the Electric Company and other
innovative programs, which altered forever how children and their families learned. This fun and masterful cultural history helps illuminate how TV came to play such an influential role in everyone's’ lives.
