FALLS VILLAGE — The Center on Main in Falls Village will present a performance by Nutmeg Junction on Saturday, April 27, 7:30 p.m. to benefit the Lee Kellogg 8th Grade.

Nutmeg Junction is an “old-time-radio” style audio theater radio program that is recorded at WAPJ in Torrington and airs on multiple radio stations, including the Robin Hood Radio Network in Sharon. The program is a weekly half-hour originally scripted show, with stories that pay homage to the classic programs of the golden age of radio.

<p>Nutmeg Junction, a live radio show on WAPJ in Torrington, is coming to Falls Village's Center on Main April 27 to give a fundraising performance for the Kellogg School.</p>

The Falls Village event features the recording of three episodes of the Nutmeg Junction radio program. The benefit was created in part to celebrate the first anniversary of the program being on the air. and the program features the world of a fictional trolley line and the Nutmeg Junction station.

While sharing some history of old-time radio, stories will be shared including “The Grey Whisper,” “Space Sentries,” “Tex Bijou: Cinema’s Singing Cowboy,” “Doc Keen and the Phenomenal Fifty” and many more.

The Nutmeg Junction program is created, written and produced by J. Timothy Quirk and features theme music created by Robert C. Fullerton.

The “Junction-eer” voice actors in the show are Kurt Boucher, Rich Cyr, Robert C. Fullerton, Deborah Goodman, Phil Hall, Jandi Hanna, Tiffy McKay, Lana Peck, J. Timothy Quirk, Jeff Savage, Jack Sheedy, Conrad Sienkiewic, Dan Willey and Olivia Wadsworth.

There will be a few surprise guests along the way and it’s sure to be a fun evening for all ages.

Admission is $10 at the door and all proceeds will benefit the eighth-graders at Lee Kellogg School.
