Dear Region One Families and Staff:Thursday we were informed that two HVRHS students have been in close contact with a family member who is symptomatic and who tested positive for COVID-19. Out of an abundance of caution and to provide time to clean and organize contact tracing, HVRHS will shift to remote learning for all students on Friday, November 13. Mr. Strever and Mr. Schibi will alert everyone who has been in close contact with the students and they will follow up with information about student test results when they receive them. Per our established protocol, we will also be working closely with the Torrington Area Health District and Dr. Lefebvre, the Region One Medical Advisor.Mr. Strever will communicate with HVRHS families with regard to the reopening of school as soon as he has the information he needs to make that decision. From the latest news reports, you are likely aware that the number of positive COVID-19 cases is rising throughout the State. Thus, it is extremely important to remember that COVID-19 is spread mainly via person-to-person contact through contaminated air droplets from coughing and sneezing by an infected person.
