Show Notes

HELLO FRIENDS

In compliance with the guidelines set up by the State of Connecticut, the decision has been made to move our entire 2020 season to 2021.

As we mentioned before, If possible and feasible within gathering guidelines, we intend to open our beautiful Patio Bar to the community as a place to come and socialize on weekends, with exciting live cabaret performances, maybe a food truck or two and modified seating configuration for social distancing.

“We will be literally ‘thinking outside of the Bok’ and turning our parking lot into a drive-in theater with live entertainment — specifically, concerts and possibly a laser show; we’re still working out the possibilities.

The Bok Gallery space is also an option for live entertainment with social distancing procedures in effect.  This will be dependent on the ruling on how many people we can have gather together.  We will produce one man or two person plays/musicals as we need to keep our performers as safe as our staff and of course, our patrons. In addition, we are looking into the possibility of streaming these live shows and events.

Summer programming will open in Connecticut at the end of June, with that in mind, it is our plan to still offer our two productions of FROZEN JR and LION KING KIDS.  Those programs will now be scheduled in August.

As we also mentioned before, our hardworking neighbors working on the frontlines will still be welcomed to attend any event at no cost.

The Playhouse has not been dark since the 1990s and we don’t intend that to happen again…in 2020 or ever!

Moving this fantastic season to next year will help ensure that doesn’t occur.

Decisions like this are costly, but necessary.  There are ways you can help support us bringing entertainment and diversion back to the Playhouse this summer…

We’d like to thank all the ticket holders for their patience while we’ve worked to figure things out…and a special thanks to those of you who’ve donated your tickets back to the playhouse.

Of course…we will keep you posted as things change depending on protocols and procedures dictated by the government and health authorities.

We truly hope you will join us this summer as we continue to bring live entertainment to the beautiful Northwest Corner of Connecticut. Please…Stay safe because we are looking forward to seeing you in person at the Playhouse as soon as we can.

Theatre people aren’t quitters and to paraphrase the Unsinkable Molly Brown…We ain’t down yet!

All the best to you

Robert Levinstein - Managing Director
